How to hide apps on Samsung Galaxy S8?

1. Open the app drawer by swiping up or down from the home screen.

2. Select the options menu by tapping the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. Tap Settings

4. Tap on Hide apps option.

5. All apps installed are listed here. Select all the apps you want to hide by tapping the app’s icon. There is a little tick in the upper left circle on the app’s icon after you select the app.

6. Tap APPLY in the upper corner of the screen. Finished.

How to unhide apps on Samsung Galaxy S8?

The process of unhide apps is same as hiding apps. You should just deselect the apps that you hide. However, those apps which have shortcuts on home screen before can’t be automatically placed on home screen again. After unhiding the apps, you have to manually place their shortcuts on the home screen once again. If you still have to operate by following specific steps, just read the words below.

1. Open the app drawer by swiping up or down from the home screen.

7. If you want to recovery the shortcuts of unhidden apps on home screen, manually place the shortcuts on the home screen.

  1. I was attempting to do this but the untick option was not available once I got into the apps I wanted to hide/unhide. The hidden apps were just gone. I had to restart my phone for this to resolve itself.

  3. What if your shortcut is missing because ur kid accidently deleted a preloaded app..like the phone.. how do i restore that??

    • Did you try to recovery the shortcuts manually? Long press the icon of apps you want to create shortcuts and drag it to the desired home screen and then release it. Hope this is helpful.
