So while it works...it's kinda messy. Even after installing the software off the provided disc and letting windows find any updated drivers, I occasionally get errors about not finding software for bluetooth enumerated devices. It still always manages to work, so whatever. Using with Windows 7 64bit.

Great device, not so great manufacturer

I'll give this little device 4 stars for how well it seems to operate, but the manufacturer seriously needs to update how they package it and the information included with it. The package is a simple clamshell, easy to open. It contains the device and a cardboard piece folded around other items, with product information listed on the back. (see included photos)

Part of that product info tells you that Windows XP or Vista users will need to install the drivers from the included CD, and sure enough, inside the folded cardboard there is a small CD. Since this is a Win XP machine (upgrading to 7 in a week or two) I went ahead and installed the drivers. Or tried to. First, this has to be the slowest installing driver package I've ever used, and I'm not talking about the loading time from the CD, but the actual running time. I've installed operating systems that took less time to complete. Eventually though, after many blips of the screen and pop up notifications, a window opened on the screen telling me, cryptically, that the device could not be installed because "Access Denied". Really? By who or what? I was logged in as an admin at the time, and my AV software had no issue with the files, so what denied access to install this driver software? No idea, so I tried again. This time it was a good thing I was watching closely because now the package wanted to uninstall itself. Okay... Generally, when installing new hardware, you want to install the drivers first, but some devices want it the other way around. Let me check the instructions in the package... oh really? When I took out the CD it had been wrapped in another folded piece of glossy cardboard, with a "Contact Us" email address on the back and "Easy Acc cares about YOU" on the front, with a big heart. I took those to be the installation instructions for the driver CD. Nope. They were instructions alright... on how to leave a positive review for the company/product here on Amazon. I kid you not, that's all it was. Yeah, Easy Acc "cares". Cares about my review, and that's about it evidently, as there are no instructions on how to install the drivers or use the product anywhere in the packaging. What should have been instructions was wasted in begging for a good review! Guess what Easy Acc? The product is getting a good review, despite how angry you've made me with this, caring more about getting a review than about helping the customer use the product for the first time. Had this been a review of just your company you'd be getting zero stars for that move.

Anyway, figuring maybe I needed to have the device plugged in to install the drivers I went ahead and let it uninstall itself, then plugged the device in and got ready to click the file to install it. And 'lo and behold, my XP Pro (SP3) machine went right ahead and installed it, without needing the CD after all. All the drivers it needed were already there, and it took about 30 seconds to install them and have the device functional. So much for what the packaging says about Win XP.

I tested the device by pairing with my cell phone, and was easily able to exchange files with it, quite quickly in fact. A 4 Mb JPG took about 20 seconds, so I'm very pleased with the device itself. It's the company that sells it I have serious contempt for right now.

Great

This Product Was Great. I Like The Packaging It Is Small As It Claims To Be. Unfortunately This Adapter Did Not Work For My Desktop But It Did Work For My Laptop Which I Did Find A Little Weird. I Give This Item 5 Stars Because It Is Small, Useful, Non Defective, And Is Affordable.

Works well. Customer service was slow--I had emailed them for a downloadable driver because my laptop doesn't have an optical drive. Before they got back to me, though, I just popped the driver CD into my desktop, extracted its contents, and ran that on my laptop. No issues since then!
